It’s officially HOT!! You can now unleash your lower body from trousers and maxis 🙂
Let’s talk about shorts…fear of camel toe and wedgies aside. Shorts come in a wide range. From your workout shorts to print shorts that you break when you are on vacation to your denim cut-offs. At the moment, the time is right for some experimentation with the sun out and all. So hopefully I’ll be giving you some inspiration that will get you excited to wear shorts for now.
A little F.Y.I. stick with natural fibers (like linen, light cotton, and chambray) – they’re lightweight and let your body breathe. Secondly, opt for lighter tones. They reflect light and heat. Lastly, pick a pair that’ll amp up your style game making you feel confident too. This is for both ladies and men. I’m sure if you haven’t been skipping leg day you are dying to show off those legs…leaner and sexy!
Don’t work out? No problem. For thicker thighs, darker colors will slim them down and lighter fabrics will fit more comfortably. If you are too slim, then look for shorts with lots of pockets or A-line shorts. They add some weight to you. When it comes to the length of your shorts, consider how far up your waist you’re intending your shorts to sit. Lastly, an accessory you will need to think about is a good belt. Contrasting colors are good e.g. a dark belt for light shorts unless it comes with its belt. It helps break your outfit into two parts.
The shorts I’m wearing have the tiniest sliver of a checked pattern which pops when you pair it with a bright top and keep the rest of your outfit simple. They are high-waisted and have a self-belt so I tucked my top into it to show off this pattern. They make my waist seem smaller due to the ruffles and legs longer. They are very much in style currently.
I’m on the hunt for cargo shorts so if you have suggestions on where I can buy some feel free to comment below or hit me up on my Instagram DM @uniq_urban.
