One of the first things I learned as I started blogging was the phrase “kill your darlings”. What this phrase means is that you should choose the best only for your blog. For example choose your ultimate photos, kill the other photos. This often means that you will have to throw away good stuff. But if you choose the best and only the best, then that is what you will radiate. With this in mind, I always find it so hard to pick what I want here and what I don’t because they all look so great. Normally I think that 6 to 10 photos would do, I dunno about you guys.
The ability to dress comfortably sexy is amazing. About this outfit: I love it. That pretty much captures it all haha. I love the colors and this bodysuit is simply too cute, especially with its coverage around my chest area. I chose the skirt mainly because it is high waist but also because it is denim and you all know how much I love my denim pieces. I accessorized with barely there nude heels, a gold-coated headband just to keep all my hair from coming to the front and a chunky chain from topshop. I’m truly addicted to their jewellery and I always grab a few every now and then.
At the time I’m writing this, there is so much going on in our world. Things that make me sad. I would just like to say a few things about it.
It saddens me that the news of the bombing in a Baghdad shopping center did not stir up as much attention as all the other attacks by ISIS on other parts of the world. Is it because we are starting to get used to those sides in a constant state of war that it no longer shocks us? I feel terrible. I don’t know what lengths we should go to, to preach peace to every human. It’s unacceptable. …..what will be left of us? These are just some of the questions I ask myself everyday. You cannot expect change in what you feel is unjust if you do not speak up.
Secondly, the rate of the black lives being obliterated are just painful. It’s like our lives mean nothing in the police’s eyes. They always keep making excuses but for how long can the public take it? There are marches and protests all over the place about #BLACKLIVESMATTER but do they care? Do they hear us? They speak about equality but do they even mean it? They are trying to tell us we don’t have a voice which I don’t seem to understand how small minded they are. If a cop pulls you over, it’s your fault if you run. It’s a disgrace; just makes me sick!! 🙁 Injustice anywhere is still injustice everywhere. I hope there comes a time where we can get justice for all the lives they take away.
You guys should listen to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’s song called “White Privilege II”. It has such powerful words for example:
I want to take a stance cause we are not free
And then I thought about it, we are not “we”
Am I in the outside looking in, or am I in the inside looking out?
Is it my place to give my two cents?
Or should I stand on the side and shut my mouth?
“No justice, no peace, ” okay, I’m saying that
They’re chanting out, “Black Lives Matter, ” but I don’t say it back
Is it okay for me to say? I don’t know, so I watch and stand
In front of a line of police that look the same as me
Only separated by a badge, a baton, a can of Mace, a mask
A shield, a gun with gloves and hands that gives an alibi
In case somebody dies behind a bullet that flies out of the 9
Takes another child’s life on sight.
The world needs a little more love I believe. We need to be reminded what it feels like to care about humanity. Being politically correct isn’t always the right way.
Quote of the day: “The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people.” – Martin Luther King
Until next time, xx!!
